Healing, Peace, Joy & Prosperity

Are healing, peace, joy, and prosperity all elusive – outside our grasp?
No, they are not!
Because of God’s foreknowledge, He knows the very day, hour and nanosecond we will come to faith in Christ.  Just when we need it, God gives us the measure of supernatural faith to believe.  He not only gives us supernatural faith for salvation, but that same faith for healing, peace, joy, and prosperity.  And what’s more, He places those gifts in our born again spirits.  At His crucifixion, Jesus obtained everything we could ever need or want that is good for us.  Jesus suffered so we don’t have to.

An exchange took place …
The pain and suffering Jesus endured before and on the cross were exchanged for our life (eternal life), healing, peace, joy and even prosperity.  Because Jesus became sin (our sin), God’s judgment and wrath were poured out on Him in exchange for our salvation and peace with God.  Our sin was exchanged for His righteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (NIV) God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Now that we know Jesus obtained all of this for us, where is it?
Amazingly, we already have healing, peace, joy, and prosperity in our born again spirits.  Salvation and eternal life reside there also.  Because of our faith in Jesus, our spirits contain everything we could ever need or want that is good for us.  We may need healing for cancer five years from now, healing from Alzheimer’s in ten years, or peace, joy and prosperity right now.  Guess what?  Jesus already obtained everything we need for whatever and whenever we need it.  Every spiritual blessing has been given to us by God the Father through Christ.  As believers, we have been placed in Christ.  And Christ, in spirit form, lives in our hearts (spirits).  Therefore, all spiritual blessings reside in our spirits.

Ephesians 3:17 (NLV) I pray that Christ may live in your hearts by faith. I pray that you will be filled with love.
Ephesians 1:3-4 (NKJV) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love,

Healing (physical and emotional):
Matthew 8:16-17 (NLV) That evening they brought to Jesus many people who had demons in them. The demons were put out when Jesus spoke to them. All the sick people were healed. It happened as the early preacher Isaiah said it would happen. He said, “He took on Himself our sickness and carried away our diseases.”

Prophecy of Jesus’ crucifixion  Isaiah 53:5 (AMP) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.
Prophecy fulfilled by Jesus  1 Peter 2:24 (AMP) He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been healed.

Love, Joy, Peace and more:
Galatians 5:22-23 (NLV) But the fruit that comes from having the Holy Spirit in our lives is: love, joy, peace, not giving up, being kind, being good, having faith, being gentle, and being the boss over our own desires. The Law is not against these things.
2 Thessalonians 3:16 (AMP) Now may the Lord of peace Himself grant you His peace at all times and in every way [that peace and spiritual well-being that comes to those who walk with Him, regardless of life’s circumstances]. The Lord be with you all.

Prosperity and good health:
If you think God wants us to live in poverty and sickness, you would be mistaken.  See what the Bible has to say about this.
Ecclesiastes 5:19 (NIV) Moreover, when God gives someone wealth and possessions, and the ability to enjoy them, to accept their lot and be happy in their toil—this is a gift of God.
Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
3 John 1:2 (NKJV) Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Knowledge – Know what God’s word says you have.
Our faith will be effective when we acknowledge what the scriptures say we already have.

2 Peter 1:3-4 (AMP) For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4 For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.
Philemon 1:6 (AMP) I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective and powerful because of your accurate knowledge of every good thing which is ours in Christ.

The Proper Tools Necessary for Healing, Peace, Joy & Prosperity

Believer’s Authority
Instead of striving and arguing with the Lord, we have been given the authority to ask Him questions.  And, we have the authority to command Jesus to do what the word says He has already accomplished for us.

Isaiah 45:11 (NKJV) Thus says the Lord, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: “Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.

God’s mighty power is in believers, even power to raise the dead!
We have God’s mighty power in us (in Christ’s spirit that lives in our spirit).

Ephesians 1:19-20 (NLT) I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

Our words have power.
We can speak healing, peace, joy, prosperity, and more into our lives, with faith.  The words we believe in our hearts/spirits are those that, when spoken, can mean life or death.  Example:  “Alzheimer’s – be gone!”  “Body, brain, and mind – be healed!”  Don’t focus on the size of the problem, focus on how big God is.  Instead of speaking to God about the illness, etc., speak to the illness about your awesome God.

Speak boldly and stay in faith!  Proverbs 18:21 (NCV) What you say can mean life or death. Those who speak with care will be rewarded.  Our words may say one thing, but what we believe in our hearts is what counts.  Proverbs 23:7 (NKJV) For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

Do you think Alzheimer’s or dementia is too big for God to heal?  Listen to Mariette McDonald’s story.

Is any disease too big for God?  No!  Sometimes healing comes directly from God and other times indirectly through what He has provided – skilled health care professionals, medicine, and the correct program to help us heal.  See how others are reversing their cognitive decline and getting their lives back at alzsurvivor.com.

How do we receive healing and other gifts? – with faith and a confirming prayer
When we pray for something, God doesn’t have to scramble around and make something happen.  Everything was accomplished at the cross some 2,000 years ago.  Just before He gave up His spirit Jesus said, “It is finished.”  He had already accomplished and obtained what we need, and it was finalized with His resurrection.

In other words, we don’t have to beg God to act on our behalf and supply what we need.  We can pray for what we need, starting from a position of knowing we already have it.  We can pray thanking God for whatever it is we need and with expectation that it will be manifested (seen).  Now, that doesn’t mean we will necessarily see it come about immediately.  If we could see ourselves in the spiritual realm, we would see ourselves healed, etc.  God gave us an imagination.  We can step out in faith and imagine ourselves healed, at peace, in joy, or in prosperity

Satan’s Roadblocks

Strife
James 3:16 (NIV) For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
1 Peter 3:1 (NIV) Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives,

Unforgiveness
Mark 11:25 (NKJV) “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.

Jesus came to earth and endured the crucifixion so that we might have an abundant life with peace, joy, health and prosperity.  The opposite is true with the thief (the devil).  He hates mankind and will do all that he can to destroy us and keep us from living an abundant life.
John 10:10 (AMP) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

Combat Satan and his roadblocks
God answers our prayers immediately, but the devil (Satan) hinders and blocks the manifestation or outcome of our prayers.  Strife and unforgiveness are some of Satan’s roadblocks.  We combat Satan by submitting to God

James 4:7 (RSV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Belief and Unbelief – at the same time!
Do you realize you can have belief and unbelief at the same time?  Imagine sitting on a 3-legged stool.  Part of you would believe it could hold you.  But at the same time, part of you would doubt it.  Belief and unbelief can both be present at the same time.  We don’t need more faith as God has given us the measure of supernatural faith neededWhat we need is less unbelief.  And we can accomplish this by reading God’s word.  By memorizing certain verses, we can bring to mind what is needed to stay in faith.

Mark 9:24 (NIV) Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Is everyone healed, at peace, in joy, or prosperous?  No
Even if we remove Satan’s roadblocks and keep unbelief locked up, God may not answer our prayers the way we hope.  He is sovereign over everything and everyone.  God sees the bigger picture we can’t see in the natural realm of this life.  Maybe what we see as burdens in our lives are actually what God is using to fulfill His purpose.  That doesn’t mean we should give up praying and expecting to see what we have prayed for.  But there is something we can count on.  When we leave this earth, God will exchange our imperfect body for a glorified perfect body.  He will exchange our imperfect soul (mind, will, emotions, conscience) for a perfect soul.  And remember, believers already have a glorified, sanctified, and perfect spirit.  This life is fleetingSo hold onto the blessed hope and assurance of heaven!
